What is a contrast dye?
Contrast dye is a substance given orally or injected to enhance the visibility of internal structures in CT or MRI scans.
Can I wear jewelry during an MRI?
No, all metal objects including jewelry, watches, and piercings must be removed as the MRI magnet is very powerful.
What precautions should I take after a contrast scan?
Drink plenty of water for 24 hours to help flush the contrast dye out of your system.
How long does a CT scan take?
The actual scan takes only a few minutes, but preparation might take 15-30 minutes depending on whether contrast is used.
Are X-rays safe during pregnancy?
